What's it like to be a newly-wed to a Brit, 30-something American female living and working in London? Heck if I know-but I'm going to find out! Join me as I blog about what it's like to live, work, play, (fka plan a wedding/fka date) (yikes!), and generally try to get by in London.
Hey,
ReplyDeleteI'm an American about to move to London to go to University and I was reading your blog and finding it really helpful! I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions.
-Should I get a phone before I leave that works internationally or should I just set up the phone thing once I'm over there? Which, in your opinion, is cheaper?
-I've heard that setting up a UK bank account is absolute hell! How many weeks should I prepared to be paying for stuff in cash with the initial move, before my accounts are set up?
Your input would be SO helpful if you have the time. : )
Thanks!
-Amy
Hey Kristina, what about Lastminute.com? I've tried that a couple of times and found them to be really reliable. Love the 'mystery hotel' options as well. Ended up at Hilton and Sheraton both times I opted for them.

Hi CK,
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping back in...I'm a huge fan of lastminute-I think that's how I've planned most of my trips to the continent this past year!
I was mainly directing that post at my friends (allegedly..am beginning to wonder...:)) in Seattle who have yet to come over for a visit, and wanted to provide a gentle nudge by listing the travel sites in which they could find a bargain trip to London! :)
Thank you for sharing information. I will also suggest you one of my favourite site ECT. Here you will get lot of good deals as well as discounts which can make your tour cheap.
