Sprucing up the Blog

For my many, many regular readers (kidding. i realize there's only two of you...;)), you'll likely notice some changes to my blog that have happened over the past week.

Last week, I spent a lot of time puttering around the web looking at different websites for work (honest!), many of which were blogs. That's when I realized just how boring mine was in comparison to others and decided to do something about it.

So, over the next few weeks, you'll likely see some changes-I'll add things, take them away, move stuff around, change templates, etc...just to try to make it more enjoyable for y'all.

So far, my favorite new widget is the 'Where Are You' widget. It tracks where my readers come from. It's no surprise that folks in Seattle, the South, and London are accessing, but who the heck is in Australia!?! Seriously, leave me a comment-I'd love to know who you are! :)

If there's something specific -a widget-template-anything-you'd like to see on my blog, let me know!

  1. Okay okay I'll fess up...seems I'm one of those Aussies (there are two of us!) lurking on your blogosphere. Fear not its not some weird cyber stalker (or ex boyfriend) but a thirty-something aussie chick comtemplating a move to london. Not knowing a lot about the place (been to Europe but not England) it was off to cyberspace to see if London really is: a) miserable/cold/wet/unfriendly/devoid of fresh food or b)liveable! Can't remember how I found your blog - google? but am really enjoying your posts. And the market pictures...who knew such yummy stuff existed in the land of beans on toast/fish and chips!

  2. Oh,how funny. Before I made the move, I tried to find blogs for the same thing-and couldn't find anything that wasn't geared to students studying abroad.
Hope it's been helpful-and let me know if you have any specific questions. I've posted my salary-it's not like I've got anything else to hide! :)

PS. There are tons of great aussies here, so you certainly wouldn't be alone in the move!

  3. Hey how would I add this to my page? Or better question where do I put it?? Thanks for your help.

  4. Hi Amanda, Welcome to my blog! If you google search clustrmaps dot com, you should get a first result that takes you to the site & explains how to add the code on your blog.
If you're on Blogger, there's a Design tab that allows you to fiddle around with the elements of your blog-add Blogger widgets, and 3rd party widgets (like clustrmaps), etc.

I'm not the most techie person in the world, so if I can figure out how to do it, anyone can!

  5. Heeeey, kristina. I'm so happy to find your blog. I'm intending to move to UK soon (in about two years) and was looking for someone who already made it. I'm from Brazil and i'm tired of the corruption in the government. This is no home for my (future) children. Thanks a lot for blogging your experiences in London, i guess i'll do the same ;]

  6. Hi Bruno,

Welcome to the blog! Hope you enjoy reading.

There are a ton of Brazilian expats living in London, so if you make the move, I'm sure you would find plenty of community to make you feel welcome.

Best of luck to you in the future!
